The Université de Montréal and the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal entrust Mapi Research Trust with the management of QUEST 2.0
A new tool designed to better understand the experience of individuals using assistive technologies is joining the catalogue of Mapi Research Trust, an international non-profit organization specializing in the management and dissemination of clinical outcome assessment (COA) instruments used in health research worldwide.
Developed by researchers Louise Demers, Rhoda Weiss-Lambrou, and Bernadette Ska, affiliated with Université de Montréal and the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal, QUEST 2.0 has become an international reference for measuring user satisfaction with assistive technologies.
QUEST 2.0 enables the assessment of satisfaction among individuals using assistive technologies, such as wheelchairs, mobility aids, and other devices that support autonomy. By directly capturing users’ experiences and perceptions, this tool helps researchers, clinicians, and manufacturers better understand patient needs and improve equipment design, service delivery, and the overall user experience.
“By promoting the use of clinical outcome assessments (COAs) in health research and practice, Mapi Research Trust ultimately aims to improve patients’ quality of life by making their voice heard. This is why we are so proud of this partnership with Université de Montréal, Institut Universitaire de Gériatrie de Montréal, organizations that streamline requests from Quebec’s research community, making collaboration easier and impact greater.” said Frédérique Boucher, Account Executive at Mapi Research Trust.
This partnership is carried out through the limited partnerships Valorisation-Recherche, L.P. and VAL-IUGM, L.P., managed by Axelys, Québec’s research development and innovation transfer organization.
“We are very proud to support this project, which perfectly illustrates the potential of public research valorization in Québec. By collaborating with Mapi Research Trust, an internationally recognized organization for the management and dissemination of clinical assessment tools, the partners are enabling an innovation developed in Québec to reach a global audience. This is a strong example of societal impact: a tool emerging from Québec’s public research that concretely helps better understand patient experience and improve the technologies and services that support their social participation.” - Christophe Alarie, Director of Valorization Projects, Axelys
