Dr. Jesse Cedarbaum works with Mapi Research Trust to manage distribution of the ALSFRS-R
Mapi Research Trust’s catalog of Clinical Outcome Assessments now includes a new questionnaire, developed by Dr Jesse Cedarbaum: The Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Functional Rating Scale - Revised version (ALSFRS-R). This tool evaluates the progression of disability in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
About the ALSFRS-R
As the globally-recognized gold standard for monitoring ALS progression, the ALSFRS-R evaluates 12 key aspects of physical function across bulbar, motor, and respiratory domains. Unlike the original scale, this revised version provides critical data on respiratory health, offering a more sensitive measure of patient survival and quality of life. Now available through Mapi Research Trust’s catalog, this validated tool continues to serve as a vital primary endpoint for clinical trials.
Voices behind the ALSFRS-R: Developer & distributor perspectives
"The ALSFRS-R continues to be the most-often used scale for assessment of patients’ abilities to function with activities of daily living in ALS. I am excited that the ALSFRS-R has found a home with MAPI Research Trust. Centralizing access to the scale will help maintain its integrity across studies and clinical trials to best serve clinical research to find treatments and cures for this devastating disease," said Dr. Jesse Cedarbaum.
"MRT is excited to announce that we are the exclusive distributor of the ALS Functional Rating Scale-Revised (ALSFRS-R), a critical tool for assessing disease progression in individuals with ALS. This milestone reflects MRT’s unwavering commitment to supporting clinicians and researchers with reliable, standardized resources that enhance patient outcomes,.” said Katie Flynn, Account Executive at Mapi Research Trust.
