Disability Assessment for Dementia (DAD)
Mapi Research Trust selected as exclusive distributor of the Disability Assessment for Dementia (DAD)
Mapi Research Trust, the leading curator and license distributor of Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs) and Mapi Language Services, the most trusted provider of linguistic validation, have partnered with Dr. Isabelle Gélinas, the author of the Disability Assessment for Dementia (DAD) to be the exclusive licensor, distributor and translator of the DAD and all its derivatives including translations and electronic versions.
The DAD, a 40-item questionnaire originally published by Dr. Gélinas and Professor Gauthier in 1999, has since then become a reference instrument to quantitatively measure functional abilities in activities of daily living (ADL) in individuals with cognitive impairments such as dementia. "Collaborating with Mapi will assure the production of high quality and harmonized translations and electronic versions of the DAD and their dissemination within the scientific community, while respecting the integrity and copyright of my questionnaire," said Isabelle Gélinas.
"Selecting Mapi, the most trusted name in COA and Medical Translation, as the exclusive provider ensures that the research and clinical use of the DAD meet the high standards that the author and the scientific community demand," commented Ana Bayles, Global Director– Language Services.
Mapi Research Trust provides unique assistance and services to questionnaire developers by centralizing and enabling access of their instruments and derivatives to all potential users. Mapi Language Services has already produced over 60 translations of the DAD which will be available through our online ePROVIDE platform.
